Hybrid PC or tablet: what to choose?

Are you confused in choosing from Hybrid PC and Tablet? We are telling you the differences:

Hybrid PC or tablet

Let know the definitions first:

Hybrid PC

The PC gathers the hybrid characteristics of a conventional PC and a touch pad. A good compromise for a user having neither the one nor the other of these devices. This is a PC with a screen and keyboard can be detached as the Microsoft Surface Pro for example.

Tablet

The touch pad is in the form of a screen, which is used without keyboard, just like a smartphone. The most popular models:

  • Apple iPad
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab.

This is an intermediate device, ideal for using simple functions, or in addition to a desktop computer.

Operating system

In convertible tablet, the operating system is equivalent to that of a conventional PC. The models are usually equipped with Windows 8. The advantage is the possibility of installing heavier and more powerful programs.
On a conventional tablet, operating systems are less powerful, but the choice is more varied:

  • iOS
  • Android
  • Windows RT

Compatible software applications are generally identical to those of smartphones, and often optimized for a larger screen.

Office and games

Possible uses of a tablet:

  • Games designed for mobile
  • Social Networks
  • Internet browsing
  • Digital books and magazines
  • Viewing e-mails.

Hybrid PC suitable for more advanced uses:

  • Professional Office Suite (Microsoft Office provided Windows RT)
  • Photo editing and graphic design,
  • Games designed for PC.

Storage

As smartphones, tablets are equipped with limited standard storage capacity:

  • 8GB
  • 16GB
  • 32GB

Hybrid PC can power up to 256 GB. Hybrid PCs can be used for:

  • Films
  • Music ,
  • Photo Albums,
  • Multi-page documents.

Transport

Tablets are more compact and lighter than the hybrid PC, tablets are more advantageous in case of frequent transportation:

  • Average weight of a hybrid PC: 1.5kg
  • Average weight of a tablet: 700 g

But once the PC keyboard hybrid detached, the size and weight are identical to those of a touch pad.

Tablets and Hybrid PCs are at their own places. For people like me will prefer Tablets instead of Hybrid PCs as price matters a lot for me.

Hybrid PCs are getting very much popular now days and the big names like Microsoft, HP, Dell and others are launching Hybrid PCs day by day. I think tablets will get Obsolete but then the price comes in mind and yes as the price difference is too high, they will not get obsoleted.
